BMG Seltec Acquires TrakitGPS
Livermore CA. August 8, 2006 --- BMG Seltec announced the acquisition of TrakitGPS, a Salt Lake City headquartered provider of web-based hosted signaling and payroll management systems focused exclusively on the unique requirements of aggregate, concrete, and ready mix producers and their respective haulers.
"The TrakitGPS acquisition is an excellent addition to the stack of applications that currently make up BMG Seltec's solution set. They are an important addition to our core development team and technical expertise. They also bring with them a rapidly growing list of enthusiastic customers - all of which made them an attractive acquisition candidate" states Seltec President, Scott Johnson.
Ben Palmer, who will continue to manage the TrakitGPS business unit for BMG Seltec affirmed, "We at TrakitGPS are excited about the new ownership. BMG Seltec understands our market and what we bring to it very well. We see many opportunities for tighter, more advanced, integration of our products with other production and business office software provided by Seltec. We also look forward to accelerating both our product and market development as a result of the new resources to which we will now have access."
The TrakitGPS solution typically sends and receives pertinent status and location information from Nextel cell phones, hence no special purpose hardware to purchase, mount, or maintain. Pre-integrated interfaces to BMG Seltec, as well as other dispatching systems (e.g. Command Alkon and Systech) are available. Users can access their fleet information from any location with an Internet connection. Users pay per month per truck with no upfront license fees or, in most cases, any hardware to buy/install.
"TrakitGPS is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will continue to operate from that location. For more information, contact Ben Palmer, General Manager, TrakitGPS business unit, BMG Seltec, at 801-273-0111, or see websites www.bmgseltec.com and www.trakit-gps.com.
