BMG Seltec's New Quarry Proof XPressª Kiosks Help Automate and Accelerate Truck and Material Flow through Aggregate and Asphalt Facilities
Livermore, CA - BMG Seltec will unveil their XPressª Kiosks in Las Vegas, Nevada, at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008, on March 11-18, 2008, in booth H-28032. XPress kiosks are engineered to improve the efficiency and productivity of asphalt and aggregate facilities by helping plant operators automate and optimize the flow of material and trucks through any quarry or pit operation. The new kiosks offer a (1) quarry proof design, (2) bright, direct sunlight readable display, (3) built in flexibility and power, (4) integration of many ancillary functions and (5) optional touch screen.
The quarry proof design is key to long term durability. Internal components are protected from the elements within a weather proof steel enclosure and solid aluminum front face plate. Externally, the display is protected with vandal resistant safety glass. The unit can handle temperature extremes from -40 to 120 degrees F with standard heater and optional air conditioner. An optional sun shade offers added protection from rain and direct sunlight, and minimizes the need for air conditioning in most installations.
The bright, full color display is perfect for outdoor applications. It is easily read in direct sunlight without being overpowering at night. Innovative backlighting technology uses the suns energy to brighten the screen, save energy, and extend product life.
Built in flexibility and power is made possible with a full, industrial PC that uses no moving parts. It offers the ability to create a tailored driver interface with a flexible graphical user interface, and support for multiple languages. Each kiosk can be fully self contained and addressable on a network. A constant network connection is not required. Data can be stored locally and the kiosk can fully operate with distributed data and processing. Optional IO allows the unit to drive a number of external devices such as laser lights, SmartPass type readers, scales, silo loadout and traffic lights, among others.
The XPress saves time and trouble by integrating a number of other needs not typically included in a kiosk. These include a built in camera (for security and driver identification on tickets), external camera support, RFID card reader, credit card reader (for faster cash sales), intercom system and key pad with soft program activated keys.
The optional touch screen is designed specifically for a quarry. The touch screen is housed behind protective safety glass and can stand up to grit, oil, insects and water. The technology does not require seasonal recalibration, and even works with gloved hands.
